Echuca Moama Vintage Movie Club - August

The African Queen is our vintage movie club movie for August.

Released in 1951, it starred Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. Directed by John Hutson, it is a classic, Oscar winning film fromHollywood's golden era .

Apple Slice

Ingredients:

1 packet of vanilla or butter cake mix
1 cup coconut
125g butter
400-500g stewed apples or canned pie apple
200-300g sour cream
ground cinnamon

Set oven at 180 degrees celcius

Grease slice tin or flat based oven proof dish. Melt butter in medium saucepan, add combined dry ingredients and mix together. Press into slice tin and cook for 20 mins. When cooked, spread base with apples, followed by sour cream and sprinkle with cinnamon. Return to oven for a further 10 mins. Slice when cooled and store in the fridge. Easy and delicious!

April weddings are wonderful !

This beautiful wedding is that of my adorable sister in law, Chrissy, to the love of her life, Pat. A very happy, joyous day this April. Below is us, all dudded up for the occasion - this dress is one of my creations too - inspired by a beautiful 1960's English car I saw driving through the hills around King Lake one day...it was this colour and I had visions of a 1960's style dress with complimentary 'chrome' jewelry ! Vah-room !!!!

Buildings with CURVES.....

I thought I would add a whole new tab and staret recording my observations of 'vintage' architecture as found in my travels around rural and urban Australia. As the title fondly suggests, here are some lovely curved walled (and windowed) buildings - inspiringly art deco in style! Drewl drewl !

Winter Wedding Wonderland...

Vintage Movie Club - Marty

After a sucessful first meeting of the Echuca Vintage Movie Club where we enjoyed Alfred Hitchcocks 'Rear Window', we prepare for our next vintage movie night out ! The third Thursday of July (16th) is the date - so lock it in !! This time we will be enjoying the 1955 classic "Marty" starring Ernest Borgnine and directed by Delbert Mann. This is a four time oscar winner (best actor, director, picture and screenplay) so it is one not to be missed ! Loads of fun dancing, listening to some fantastic music with a great variety of styles and genres, enjoying the fashions, retro shopping, catching up with friends in the Australia wide Rockabilly scene, incredible cars and lovely QLD sunshine......Please enjoy browsing - you might see yourself here or even get some styling inspiration (as I did !) You will notice that my family and friends feature quite heavily (naturally), but how wonderful to be inspired and encouraged by those closest to you !
